Why Guatemala?

Growing up in the Midencey household, traveling to Guatemala to visit family was a typical vacation. During a trip to Antigua, Dannelle walked thru the ruins of what once was one of the largest cathedrals in Central America.  It was in that moment that the vision of getting married in Guatemala began.

Fast forward to Christmas 2016, Russell had the pleasure of joining on a family trip where he fell in love with Guatemala. It was an easy decision when it came time to pick the place where we will begin this new chapter. We want to share with our friends and family a place dear to our hearts and hope you fall in love with everything this country has to offer, as much as we have.

Flights

Kayak and the Hopper App are great tools for keeping an eye on flights for the dates you are traveling. When you see something that works for you, book it!

You will want to fly into the main airport: L'Aurora, Code: GUA

• LAX to GUA: Direct flights are available from Delta and Avianca, they are typically red-eye flights. Other airlines with stops we would recommend are United and Copa Airlines.

• SFO to GUA: No direct flights from what I can see, but you can catch a great price with the 1-stop with a layover in Houston via United.

• ATL to GUA: There are direct flights out of Atlanta via Delta.

• IAD to GUA: No direct flights from what I can see, but you can catch a great price with the 1-stop with a layover in Salvador via Avianca or Atlanta via Delta.

To | From Airport

Transportation to/from the Airport to Hotel can be arranged either directly with the hotel, or through Antigua Tours. Antigua isn't terribly far from the Airport, but traffic, so give yourself about 2 hours of travel time to and from.

Don’t forget to exchange your currency! Your commercial bank typically has the best rates.
